I don’t know if anyone actually said this phrase but they should have; “To catch a lot of fish cast a large net.” I have found this to be true with the internet. I know less about the internet than I do about fishing. When I want fish, I go to the store. When I want to navigate the net, I go to my daughter, Dawn. She is my technology pro.
I launched this blog with her technical guidance. Actually, she pushed the button to “launch.” It was kind of anticlimactic for me looking back at the moment. However, there is a no more worthy finger.
Back to the “big net”. This morning I wanted to get to my blog without going through “Word Press”. So I googled “Capturing Life”. Wow! My very clever web site name, “Capturing Life” was not nearly as clever or creative as I thought. There are hundreds of clever, creative people who are “capturing life”, maybe even thousands. Most of them are photographers. Having been overwhelmed by the first page of hits I gave up when trying to find my site and called Dawn.
She chucked and told me to enter the site name in the HTTP line. Sure enough, when I put it in and hit the return key, up popped my blog page. I wasn’t supposed to google it. All I had to do was HTTP it; so very simple, now that I know-how.
Making good life decisions is a lot like my recent investigation. We often struggle to weigh out the overwhelming options and possibilities in life in an effort to discover the just-right life plan. It is easy to be bogged down in the effort to find the just right “God’s will” answer. This is not how God designed life to be. Satan designs life this way; but not God.
When life demands a response, there is only one real beginning place. “Lord, I love you more than anything. All I want to do is please you. I will begin walking in the direction that seems most like you. I know you will graciously correct my path to fulfill your will.”
We do not need to know God’s perfect will as long as we remember God does. He’s not looking for perfect plans from us but a perfect love for Him.
So which do you desire most; to know the perfect plan for your life or to know the perfect Planner of your life?
